Member-only story
The worst feeling in the world for a writer is when something gets deleted.
It’s 3 am here, and I spent two hours finishing the rough draft of a 5 chapter ebook. I spent an hour trying to recover the ebook.
But, now, I only have three chapters.
Albeit, it was a 7-page ebook for this draft. I have all the graphics saved, and I know the content by heart. But, it’s so disheartening for two chapters, a conclusion, and a worksheet to disappear.
I did save the document repeatedly, and there are previous versions in the history. Just none after midnight.
I have been messaging with technical support and they claimed they had never heard of that. It makes me wonder if there is an alternative reality I was in that my document stayed in.
I finally gave up and told support I just hoped tomorrow it all mysteriously returned. No questions asked.
And then, that conversation with technical support disappeared from the chat window.
Definitely, time to go to bed.
So, if you need some schadenfreude or you can commiserate, here you go…the worse feeling in the world for a writer is to lose their work.
Let’s hope this is easier tomorrow.
